Chris has worked in many studios throughout NZ as a freelance engineer since that time. Chris spent four years in Australia operating a recording studio in Darwin. Chris did everything associated with running a studio from building to mixing to fixing and, of course, mastering.

Interposed between studio work, Chris has spent years doing serious amplifier and speaker design and manufacturing. On and off, from 1984 to 1992, Chris was involved with live sound, mainly as the front of house engineer, but has since seen the light.

Although Chris is not into naming the artists he has worked with, he commands a great deal of respect in the audio and recording industry.

Chris has been involved with York St from the early days of the studio, and in 1996 designed and built the main monitors for the mastering suite.
